The BCLA Clinical Conference & Exhibition is returning to Manchester on 9 - 11 June 2023.

BCLA

With an active and accessible learning programme the BCLA prides itself in supporting and developing its members professionally and educationally, globally. BCLA provides members with a continual stream of relevant information, access to a range of high-quality resources and events, as well as the opportunity to communicate with others involved with contact lenses and ocular surface, whatever their role. Through the process of knowledge sharing, education and networking, BCLA brings expertise from the world of academia and research into the world of the Eye Health Professionals, for the benefit of their patients. A number of CPD events are run throughout the year including this Clinical Conference & Exhibition and as usual, Topcon will be supporting BCLA education with kit for some of their workshop; the MYAH in Debbie Jones/Jill Woods "Multi-function instruments for myopia management – a review of current instruments and their capabilities", and Keyur Patel's "Sat Nav for Myopia Management" workshop, Brian Tomkins will be using the Topcon Triton OCT in his “Empirical Fits with Sclerals” workshop.

Topcon Healthcare will be on stand number 51 at this year's BCLA and will be showcasing our latest products and key products for the Optician.

The Topcon MYAH allows opticians to offer comprehensive myopia and dry eye management in their practice, and by using the latest extensive axial length dataset, based on thousands of children collected by Erasmus University Medical Center (Rotterdam, NL)1, they can not only monitor axial length but compare measurements with reference growth curves and hence understand a child’s risk of myopia. The MYAH incorporates corneal topography including keratoconus screening and pupillometry, axial length measurement, progression reports for analysing treatment efficacy, and a comprehensive suite of dry eye assessment tools.

We will also be showing the innovative Eye-light® (with mgd-mask®, my-mask® and me-check®) for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of dry-eye.  Topcon Great Britain & Ireland are now the sole distributor of the Espansione Eye-light® product range. The Eye-light® (IPL) treats upper and lower meibomian glands, using LLLT to stimulate mitochondria uses just 5 thermal light pulses around the eye. In combination with LLLT, patients can continue treatment at home with my-mask®. The me-check® is a screening and diagnosis device with integrated severity reports, it’s easy to use and takes just 3 minutes for a complete screening with calculation of the MGD severity, and a comprehensive dry-eye analysis.  It provides a clear image to share and explain the dry-eye cause with the patient.

Our OCTs the Maestro2 and Triton Plus will also be on show, the Maestro2 has just reached the milestone of 20,000.  Our world-renowned OCTs (since 2006) and OCTA provide true colour fundus photography and instantaneous vascular structure information. Triton captures 100,000 A-scans per second, SS OCT gives better penetration to clearly visualise the eyes deep layers, such as the choroid and sclera, allowing for a single scan image showing vitreous to choroid, uniformly clear and noise-free eliminating the need for time-consuming combination scans. SMARTTrack™ gives automated focusing, optimisation and eye tracking, and allows automatic acquisition of follow-up scans in precisely the same anatomical location.  Maestro2’s robotic technology with fully automated capture, performs alignment, focus, optimisation and capture with just a single touch, with the report immediately displayed, with manual/semi-auto modes for difficult-to-image patients. Our browser-based hardware-independent application, IMAGEnet® 6 gives fast multimodal OCT fundus imaging and OCTA.

Topcon’s imaging solution the SL-D701 slit lamp with high quality digital camera, the DC-4 digital photo attachment, giving the user an ophthalmic image recording system, the DC-4 can be mounted on any of Topcon’s “D” series Slit Lamps. The DC-4 captures colour and monochrome images of the eye. Lastly the BG-5 background illuminator completes Topcon’s complete imaging solution with its infrared capabilities allowing viewing and documenting of the Meibomian glands.

You'll also see our slit lamp & CC-100 vision chart on Johnson and Johnson's stand where they will have a station for contact lens fitting on their stand.

Our easy-to-use, combination optical biometer and full corneal topographer, the Aladdin allows for the correct selection of IOL for the patient. It actually combines 9-in-1 features, including optical coherence biometry, placido topography,  wavefront analysis of the cornea, IOL calculation suite, pupillometry, DICOM connectivity, and the NEW RX/AL Trends Module.

Topcon offers products and solutions for all areas of the Opticians practice, including diagnosis, treatment, data management and telemedicine solutions, and equipment tables, (the ATE-700 can be seen with our slit lamp imaging system)

Topcon invests in technologies and solutions for the optician and their customer’s benefit.
